I love Chinese food and have eaten in a number of places all over the country, this has to be one of the best for the food they provide along with the afforadable rates, a must try

I am a Chinese food addict and have eaten at uncountable places, but for the Kirin experience I (too) often travel with a car load full of friends all the way from Palo Alto to San Fran. Everything is great, and their hot & sour soup is the best in the known universe. For well below $10 per person you will get more food than you can possibly handle, and you will be served by very friendly and relaxed staff. Even the vegetarian friends are always very satisfied (although they greatly miss out on the soup).

If you want some really good Northern Chinese food, try the Kirin. No other Chinese restaurant in SF offers such authentically prepared dishes. I was in China a couple of years ago, and I was happy to discover food in China tasted like the food at Kirin. Try the Cherry Pork or Prawns a la Chung Hua. Or for something more traditional, try one of their great noodle dishes. Prices are moderate, and you can feed three for under $25.

If you are looking for a great place for Chinese, this is the place. You can eat really well for under $10/person and go overboard for under $15/person. They are located on Geary by 25th. Try their whole fish 'a la Kirin' or ask about things 'not on the menu'.
