I travel alot and love to try new restaraunts in new areas..particularly
ethnic food. this one is a winner! this place is good choice for viatnamese
food. friendly personal serving large portions, nice interior decoration,
and last, but not least, really tasty (the food, not the restaurant).

This may be dollar for dollar the best place to eat in the bay area!
For 6 or seven bucks you can get just about anything on the menu.
It will taste great and be made fast ( I personally always get number
49 but I know lots of people who would kill for the 5 spice chicken).

Golden Star Vietnamese is a great place for Vietnamese Noodle
soup. My favorite is the House Special (#1) - a beef noodle soup
with rare (it cooks while it seeps in the broth) flank steak,
beef balls, tripe, etc. It is delicious and at a price of
$4.35 a bowl, it's also a bargain! Along side the soup, you are
served bean sprouts, jalapeno peppers, and sprigs of basil. Tear
off the basil leaves and drop them in the broth along with the
peppers (if you like it spicy!) and sprouts. They will cook in
the soup and tastes delicious!
If you're coming around the prime lunch hour of noon during the
week, be prepared to wait for a table. The tables usually fill
up by noon but if you arrive around or before 11:30, there isn't
a wait.
