One thing that you should do when you visit New Orleans is try not to eat at any of the chain restaurants. Visit the local establishments and your taste buds will be treated to a most wonderful culinary delight. That's what Jack Dempsey's is all about, great food, happy customers and awesome prices. I've had the Fried Catfish with Mac & Cheese (lightly fried, many pieces and homemade macaroni and cheese) and also the Grilled Shrimp Salad (with a honey mustard dressing).

Hot fresh tasty seafood. But bring your appetite, the servings are large. Me and friend always order Super Seafood Platter and split it. Great gumbo, large plump crawfish, and try their good but unusual Gonzo (Baked macaroni over the french fries).

This is sort of out of the way but it is well worth your time getting here. Great seafood - New Orleans style and lots of it. Great, very friendly service - They actually seem happy to see you! If I was to have a top ten list for a "last meal" Jack Dempsey's is hig on this list!

A true five star restaurant in my opinion Jack Dempsey's did not let me down. the portions at this place are unbelievably large. You will wait a while on an average not but as the concensus says... it is very worth the wait. The super seafood platter is indeed super, and super, super large, Better bring a wheelbarrel to bring your companion, and the rest of this huge platter home if someone intends to order it. lo' help ya if you eat it all 'cause you won'e be leaving at closing time. Delicious seafood at a tollerable price!!!

You want hot fresh tasty seafood and lots of it? Then dig this place. Serving monster portions and its Grrrreat! Start off with the gumbo cuz it cant be missed and it the crawdaddies are in season youd best get em. If you have a monster and I do mean monster appetite then order the Super Seafood platter. I have never finished it. GonZo sez- Baked macaroni over the fries as a side order!
