The first thing that myself and my two eating companions noticed when we entered this restaurant was the dreadful smell. I have no idea what it was and I have no desire to, but rest assured that it was revolting. When we sat down, we quickly received the obligatory water and ?chips and dip? which were very tasty but after looking at the menu for a good 15 minutes, no one had asked us if we would like a drink. When the waiter eventually came to our table, we ordered a bottle of wine and our food. We then waited for a further 15 minutes before the wine arrived and when it did, it had been opened before it came to our table (it was not opened in front of us) and the cork reinserted half way in and upside down. He then left it on the table with the cork in the neck of the bottle as I have described and did not offer to pour it. One of my friends is a vegetarian and ordered the cheese stuffed mushrooms - she got the beef. Another friend is allergic to dairy products and asked for no cheese or butter - he got butter. I myself ordered the chicken enchilladas - I got chicken fajitas.
To be fair, the correct meals did come to us very quickly but none of us were pleased with the quality of what we got. The chicken in the enchilladas that I received was stringy, brown meat and they were covered with a sauce that seemed to be a mixture between soy, woucester and barbeque and tasted like it came from a jar. My friend who ordered the vegetarian dish got more cheese than I could have thought possible on a plate, and although the chicken in the chicken fajitas was said to be fine the meal on the whole was tainted by the dissatisfaction we felt.
I would like to point out that while the food was so bad, it was made worse by the service we received. The waiter seemed both unapologetic and disinterested by the fact that we were so displeased by our food. Had he been even slightly more polite and apologetic, I don?t think I would have felt the need to write this review. less
