Hennessey's is fantastic, great service, great food and
great views. Recommend you go on Tuesday for the 2 for 1 burger
special. The burgers are really great. Very happening place
on the weekends.

A great bar with a view, and food too. While my general rule is "don't
bother with food at a bar" this one tempts me to break that
rule on occasion. The entertainment offered by the passersby
on the Strand is very... uh... Californian. Quite a show. Certainly
a nice break from the beach vendor scene, and worth a bit of a wait
at lunchtime. One day I'll come by in the evening to see if
the night scene is as much fun as I've heard.

This place is tons of fun. If you go on a friday or saturday night
you are in for a treat. The bar is located right on the Hermosa Pier
and it is a great place to meet people. Lots of fun especially if
you feel like having some drinks.

My husband and I come here often. I wouldn't recommend their dinner
menu, but Hennessey's isn't really a dinner place anyway. Their
burgers and sandwiches are excellent. We love sitting on the
upper deck, which is right next to the Strand, so you can see people
on the beach and people whizzing by on skates, bikes, scooters,
and blades. GREAT for people watching. Way crowded on weekends,
and forget about getting a spot, outside or in, when there's a
festival.
We've always been happy with their waitress service, except
for lately, they've been slow to get the first order. Since we're
not in a hurry, and there's so much people-watching to do that
we're pleasantly occupied.
They have great daily sandwich specials (a common one is BBQ beef
sandwich, and fish specials), 2 for 1 burgers on Tuesdays, and
Thursdays they have the birthday club for anyone whose birthday
was that week, where that person gets a free entree. I suggest
you ask for a free burger instead.

I think this is a great sandwich/beer place to go after the beach.
The prices are decent and the service is okay. It's nice to be able
to sit outside or in.

Great place to sit outside or inside and get a good decent meal, or a beer with
friendly service. The service could be a little quicker, but it's not as bad
as some of the other restaurants on the Pier. Try the earth sandwich for a great
healthy lunch after a day at the beach.
