There is so much to be said about The Chicken Place, it is my favorite
place to eat out and we live an hour and 10 minutes away. I have been eating
there with my family since I was 10 years old. I am going to be 36 this year
and I now go with my husband and my children. I have waited an hour and
more and would do it again anytime. If you ever have the opportunity
to go, you should. It is a tradition in our family. My dad still goes,
and up until my grandmother's death in 2006 she was still going.
We took her there for her birthday dinner in 2005. You won't be diappointed!

Coming into Ireland, the smell of the food from the Chicken Place
is a great way to whet your appetite. It's a nice, cozy little
place that, even when packed, still provides an atmosphere that
is above-average. The chicken is never dry, and the sandwiches
are very good. Small beer selection, but that still doesn't
do anything to detract from the meals. If you're from out
of town, on vacation, and looking for a good American meal don't
pass this place up, as you won't find better by heading into
Jasper.

The Chicken Place has been operating in the same location for
as long as I can remember. The are serving the
grandchildren of original customers. Originally started by
A.Leinbach, who sold his mouth-watering chicken receipe along
with the business, to assure the good food and service remained
in Ireland, Indiana. The seating is limited so calling ahead
is recommended but even if you show up on the spur of the moment
they can usually seat your family in a short time. Other entrees
are available but the name says "Chicken Place" expect that to
be on almost every table within eye or nose range!
