The food is great, the chef changes the menu periodically so they almost
never have the same things on the menu for to long. I have never had a meal
here that I did not like. Great wine selection, the waiter can usually
reccomend a good wine to go with your meal.

This place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights, but they
do take reservations. There is a bar which usually has live music
on the weekends. The food is great, the chef changes the menu periodically
so they almost never have the same things on the menu for to long.

This place serves some pretty good food, but on a busy night it
is really LOUD!. We have had some very nice meals there, but when
you have to yell at your dining partners it does tend to detrace
from the enjoyment of sharing a meals with family and/or friends.
Oh, did I mention that it can be VERY LOUD here?

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised that the food was actually
good here. A rare expectation in Silicon Valley. The ambiance
was nice, too. Husband ordered the pesto pizza which was delicious.
I ordered the veal which was flavorful. Dessert menu was quite
expensive - but worth it. Good Los Gatos dining spot.

We had lunch here on a November weekday. I'd been to the California
Cafes in San Diego, Walnut Creek, and the one in the Westfield
Shopping Center in San Jose or Santa Clara, but this was the best
of all of them. It was not as busy as it would have been at dinner
or on the weekend so it felt very calm & relaxing. I was getting
over a cold so I had a nonalcoholic beverage, pomegranite lemonade
which was delicious! My husband had a lobster club sandwich and
I had a seafood pasta dish. Both were good & beautifully presented.
We had a great waiter - I think named Jason - who answered all my
questions or went to find the answer if he didn't know. For dessert
we shared creme brulee. I would definitely return to this place!
Oh, and if you sign up for the Cafe Club card, you can earn points
which are redeemable for dining certificates and other stuff.
We have even received free meal certificates in the mail for our
birthdays.

This is a very nice place to eat, but I think the prices are a bit
high for what you get...

I've always loved the California Cafe in Los Gatos. Great food,
and a very genuine and accomodating staff have always made it
on my all-star list. However, after re-opening it's beautifully
remodeled restaurant, it lacked the "atmosphere" that made
it so inviting to many of us "Locals". Well, it's obvious that
the California Cafe is under new management. The whole "Tone"
and feel of the place is much warmer and friendlier than ever!
The menu is superb! The chef obviously knows how to combine flavors
and the presentation is impressive on everything I have tried.
If you haven't been there in the last couple of months, I encourage
you to treat yourself to a great dining experience.

WOW! We were just about to give up on California Cafe here in Los
Gatos, but something has happened there that has won our hearts
back! By the time we left there last night we felt like this was
truly OUR restaurant once again. We'll be back tomorrow!

I guess I'm the first to review since they remodeled and I have
to say
it's really nice! We went for dinner there last night and there
were
4 of us. We shared 3 appetizers and they all were the best! Then
I tried
to find my way through the wine list which was really a book (they
have a large
selection :) . I had sea bass with a crust of crab on top and it came
with an orange
sauce. Out of this world! We shared a baked alaska for dessert
and had coffee drinks too. The service was good too! Really a nice
experience!
Can't wait to go there again!
