...I have to agree with the comments here with one exception. We really enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and never over-bearing. She remembered us from months back which was surprising. The Beef Wellington is delicious as was the lobster ravioli appetizer. Lovely atmosphere.

We've loved this restaurant since we started began spending summers at Duxbury Beach. The seem to constantly reinvent themselves. The dinner specials keep up with current city restaurant trends and the martini list keeps up with this trend. Very conscientious service and they remember us from year to year. Thank you Sun Tavern!

Worth a drive from Boston to visit friends. Great food and atmosphere. Theit halibut with panzanella salad was indescribably delicious. Can't wait to return.

The best filet mignon I have ever had. Ask for some bernaise sauce.

What a charming place. Great food and service. Try the Seafood Scampi and the chocolate torte for dessert.

The food was horrible for the price. The waiters and waitresses were rude and very slow. Definitely wasn't worth my time or money.

I'm not surprised by the reviews about this restaurant. We decided to try it and went for our anniversary. We will go back for our anniversaries in the future. My wife loved it and I one of the best steaks I've ever had. We had drinks by the fireplace after dinner. It also looks like I'll take clients there for dinner. I can't think of a better place on the South Shore to get their business.

Who would want to drive to Boston when there is a gem of a restaurant like this on the South Shore. It has a warm rustic charm about it. Great food and menu choices that never disappoint. Their wine list has great choices in all price ranges. There is a neighborly atmosphere as you look around and see guests exchanging greetings with each other. It seems like the Duxbury locals all know where to eat. Enough, you'll just have to try it yourselves! Bon Apetit!

The server was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the questions I asked. I started with the lobster bisque which was delicious. My husband started with an appetizer called Fire and Ice. It was spicy grilled shrimp with a small scoop of coconut sorbet. He raved about it. We then shared a mixed green salad with a very flavorful red wine vinaigrette. Next, I had the Seafood Scampi and my husband had the Filet Mignon. My Scampi was a perfect mixture of shrimp, scallops and lobster in a balanced garlic, lemon and white wine sauce in which all of the flavors were clearly presented and none overwhelmed the other. My husbands steak was cooked to the correct temperature and he loved the Bordelaise sauce it was served over. We shared a molten chocolate cake for dessert that had a deep, rich chocolate flavor and was accompanied by a vanilla bean ice cream that was a perfect compliment to the chocolate. I almost forgot to mention the wine. They have an extensive list with great range. So, it may seem a little pricey to some but to us the quality was well worth the price. We plan on returning there often.

The service was excellent, with a very pleasant waitstaff. The food was delicious along with pleasing plate presentations, from appetizers, thru entrees, and including the yummy desserts. Though on the pricier side for us, it was definitely nice for a treat, and compared to other restaurants in this price range or higher, I thought the portions were good.

I was quite dissatisfied with the service here. Everything was slow and the food was not good enough to make up for that. I don't think I'd go back.
