the best part of this restaurant is management's operation, ,, chef's important & peninsula's is excellent, ,, but for all his worth, if the staff's not up to the task, quality of food's forgotten quickly, ,, counted no less than 3 managers on the floor - that's attention, ,, menu's al a carte so the bill can be higher than anticipated but an outstanding experience not to be missed, ,, did i mention desserts were outstanding ?, ,, the only detraction from the total experience is the noise level which can be annoying - go & enjoy !

an excellent choice for dinner, ,, outstanding menu & wine list, ,, & desserts are not to be missed, ,, reservations a MUST, ,, a true 4 star in the mobil guide + several mentions in the n y times & other awards rightfully deserved, ,, probably the best restaurant in charleston, ,, shares common ownership w/hank's, ,, worth a 100m drive imo

Chef Carter is a magician. He can make anything that would normally seem regular and make it spectacular. The food is always wonderful and the staf is top knotch. I've eaten here several times and am always thirlled with the results. One of the finiest dinnig establishments in Charleston.

If you are looking to impress either a business client or love interest this is definitely one of Charleston's finest destinations. Chef Carter elevates simple Southern cuisine to an ethereal level. The wine list is just long enough to take care of any taste and the service is knowledgeable, helpful, and ready to make sure that you receive the dining experience that you are paying for. I can't wait to go back next time I am in Charleston.

Try Chef Robert Carter's grits with Lowcountry Oyster stew - delicious, as is the rack of lamb with a coconut mint pesto! His creativity of blending ingredients paired with his culinary skills pleasantly surprised me.
