Excellent old-fashioned restaurant on the outskirts of Frederick.
The cuisine is what you would get at good restaurants in the 1960s, so
it's not necessarily low-fat. Uniformly good, including the
salads and soups which are quite interesting, but especially the breads
and desserts baked on-premises.

Been going to Hagans for several years.....always a fine meal. The
decor is charming and keeps to the history era of the tavern.
Meals range in selection and every one I had has been great. I've
been there with my wife and large parties and have always had a time to
remember.

The entree price is for dinner. Lunch prices are in the $10-$15
range. We've lunched here twice and both were good.
The place is an antique! Very quaint. Small rooms with very early
american decoration. Wide beam floors that seem to slope. Wait
staff dressed in period attire.
Wait staff is good and informed. Wine-By-The-Glass list is extensive
(avg. is $6.00/glass); wine list is very extensive (some 80 selections).
Beer list is excellent.
The Lump Crab Bisque is a must. Large pices of lump crab meat in
a creamy bisque. Sandwich menu is in the $7+ range. Generous and
well presented. The crab sandwich was declared as excellent
though one of the two chicken jerky sndwiches was "chewy". Salads
are very good. The $7.95 Caeser is excellent (order anchovies).
With 2 glasses of wine, i bottle of Heinekins, 2 chicken jerky
sandwiches, 1 Caeser salad, 1 crab cake sandwich, 2 crab bisques,
the bill was $60.
