Solid if not memorable New Mex mex. Interesting salsa with a slightly sweet taste.

To reason that this restaurant is only popular because of its budget-happy prices would be a slanderous insult to the kitchen. The menu specializes in authentic New Mexican fare featuring such popular choices as chicken tacos, hefty enchiladas, and a Chile Relleno that comes so smothered in cheese that one wonders if perhaps the chef has direct ties with the Wisconsin cheese industry. If the tongue begs for something other than Mexican there is also a decent selection of burgers and sandwiches. Beer and wine is available.

I travel on business a lot and have had a lot of bad experiences. I was staying a few miles from Los Cuatos and had asked the hotel front desk for a recommendation, they suggested Los Cuatos. After several days of really bad food, this was a welcome change. Although I am not a fan of their Chili Rellano, I have enjoyed EVERYTHING else I've tried. If you're used to So Cal salsas, this wil be a really welcome change. No or very little tomatos, local chilli instead. Make sure that whatever you get comes with Sopapillas, they're terrific with honey. Inclosing, I'm in Albuquerque every few months and EVERY time I always stop at Los Cuatos.

Pretty good place - you get potatoes in the burritos which is unusual for a Mexican restaurant. It was a little bit pricy for lunch, but not bad. large servings. Crowded but the wait wasn't bad. Service was fast.
