I live in Reston. I like to come to this restaurant at least once a month for chicken fajitas, which are great. The food quality is the same every time, wonderful.
A couple of weeks ago, my friend and I decided we would drink margaritas. These margaritas tasted like sour mix instead of tasting tequila. So we had to proceed to order an extra shot of tequila as well as grand marnier to share to add to our drinks, so that they tasted like a margarita should. Unfortunately, this made the drink $16 dollars, more expensive than our entrees.
We decided we would tell the manager in the hopes that she would take care of our drinks as well as to rectify the lack of liquor in the drinks being served. However, the manager was argumentative and certainly did not leave my friend nor myself with warm fuzzies.
I actually have not been back. I don't like the way we were treated. Plus I have spoken to others about our exper ... more

Pastel hues and curvy Southwestern architecture make Rio Grande's new Bethesda outpost hard to miss. The Grande, which moved from cramped quarters on Fairmont Avenue to this roomier locale last fall, still has the rustic Tex-Mex feel of all the restaurants in this local chain. And the tortilla-making machine still cranks out corn tortillas--one reason why the place is a magnet for families. Beef tacos and chicken enchiladas with salsa verde are good deals. At brunch, chilaquiles--eggs scrambled with tortilla chips, cheese, and mesquite-grilled chicken--are the way to go.

Ceviche appetizer is good, a little spicy. I enjoy the food very much here. Unfortunately, due to cement floors and walls and un-softened ceilings, the noise is absolutely deafening. The wait for a table or even a place at the bar is long at the popular hours, and its popular at happy hour. All of Reston Town Center has a parking problem unless you want to walk 2 blocks to the furthest garages. However, because of the food and friendly bartenders I'll still eat here!

Used to love Uncle Julio's Rio Grand Cafe when it first opened in the Reston Town Center. Then, in order to enjoy lunch or dinner, I had to arrive between 2PM and 4PM on a weekend afternoon to avoid the crowds. It seems that everytime I arrive, more tables and chairs have been added to accommodate the huge crowds who line up to eat in this restaurant. It gets worse when the movies let out. But then, it's like that in every restaurant in Reston Town Center. But on a positive note, the Cadillac Platter with lobster is a very fancy dish and the freshly-made house salsa is to-die-for. If you like very loud, very crowded restaurants with good food, this one is for you.

This place exists as both a ying and a yang in my book. On the positive side, the food is fresh, flavorful, and not smothered in cheese and spices like so many other Mexican place. The prices can appear high until you realize that ordering a-la-carte rather than from the various platters and combinations will actually save you a few bucks if you have to mind your budget without leaving you hungry. Of course, if your intent to to drink beer, well all bets are off for saving your money. And that is the bad part about this place. It caters far too much to the happy hour crowd whose evening meal consists of a few chips and lost of "cold barley soup" - if ya know whay I mean. Word to the wise, avoid this place like the plague on Friday nights. And if you do venture to go there during the weekend, bring your earplugs - this is Reston and there are kids-a-plenty.

This place has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The bar area that serves chips and salsa is a great way to wait for your table without listening to your stomach grumble. The portions are large and tasty.

A Very Good Resturant with excellent food and service. This prices are bit high but considering there's not competion for good mexican food they can get away with it. This is good for the whole family or just lunch.
