The Blue Horizon is the best Diner in monticello. This place has
been around forever and the pictures of celebrities on the walls
will prove that. The place is very clean, good service, and there
is no smoking allowed inside anymore. I am a smoker but I hate the
smell of smoke while Im eating. I just had a brunch with 13 of my
co workers here and the everyone was very nice, the waitress was
under pressure and still kept a smile and didnt mess anything
up. Every table was full and the woman was always right there bringing
us anything and everything even if we didnt ask. Great service,
Great Attitudes, I remember coming here after my prom and nothing
has changed well maybe a few faces but thats it. They have the best
Breakfast menu around. A+

A good bet for decent food in Monticello, The Blue Horizon, which
has been around for quite some time, is a glass-chrome palace
with Greek accoutrements.
Their dinner specials are quite numerous, a bit pricey but very
filling, and the food is acceptable. I love their bison burger
platter. Their broiled fish specials are quite nice, but the
fish is poached in butter, so don't expect it to be healthy. Their
pasta tastes like Buitoni and Ragu, so avoid it. Their breakfast
menu is top notch (pancakes are a dream) but the omelettes are
made with so much butter that my stomach was knotted for hours.
There are two dining areas. The nonsmoking area feels like a restaurant,
but the smoking area feels like a diner. I actually prefer the
smoking area's ambiance, and service, but the ventilation needs
some improvement. The service in the nonsmoking area is slow,
and the carpet needs cleaning.
