If this is the place I think it is (visited last month for the fall changing of the colors) it has a sign indicating that it is the oldest diner in NY state. If it is...please do yourself a favor and go out of your way to eat breakfast or lunch here.... the biscuts and gravy were out of this world...my wife had a home made cinnamon roll....(much bigger and better than you could have expected)...it is typical diner fare served with love (the family that runs this place clearly cares about their customers and the food they serve). We are from Cal, SF Bay area...and I can guarantee you that there is nothing like Village Diner out here...also, if you are staying in the area...make sure you have dinner at the Beekmans Inn in Rhinebeck....one of the great dining experiences we have had throughout the US.
