On the one hand, I am very glad to see that Dine.com has returned to life. On the other hand, I am very sad to announce that LaRocca's is no longer in business. I find it very difficult to believe, because the restaurant was always busy. There is really no substitute in the general vicinity, but take-out from Macaroni Grill is going to have to be next best.

La Rocca's has become our new Italian favorite in the neighborhood
- I "discovered" this restaurant using my well-travelled
Entertainment Card some years back, and we have been frequent diners
ever since. I love the pleasant staff, and the promptness that parties
are seated. Very high quality dishes, rofl at the "philistines"
comment :-) but seriously, the farfalle (pasta, peas and pancetta
dish mentioned below) is outstandingly good. The capellini, though,
is the best pasta on the menu in my opinion. Often, though, a small Carmine
Special pizza does me just perfectly. Prices are in the upper affordable
range, dinner for two should be about $50 with a couple of glasses of
wine. Highly recommended Italian for the North Fresno area while staying
reasonably priced. Big Five Stars!

I've been dining at this restaurant for over ten years and I have
only good things to say about it. The food is always very good,
the service is excellent and the owner is one of the nicest guys
you'd ever want to meet. The place was once just a family style
spaghetti house when I first started going there ten years ago
but Patrick has recently remodeled and added some delicious
changes to the menu. Favorites are the veal chops, steaks, eggplant
raviole, and a dish with pasta, peas and pancetta in a cream sauce.
The spaghetti is still on the menu for the Philistines. It can
get crowded so plan on having a glass of wine at the wine bar before
dinner on a Friday or Saturday. Most impressive about this restaurant
is that it is not the least bit pretentious.

Wonderful. Although it's been a while since I've lived in Fresno,
I always like to eat at La Rocca's when I'm in town. My trip isn't
complete if I don't meet my friend Trish there. The food, the service
andjust the place itself is just wonderful.
