First, it's moved from Montecito to downtown Santa Barbara
(State St.) It's the same deal, though: large portions,
better-than-average Italian food, and quaint atmosphere.
Some people go just for the bread balls. I don't know about
the wine, though: the last time I went I swear it came from a box
(I don't mean by the taste--I saw the box.)

Good, hearty, and LARGE quantities of food at really good prices.
I split a whole order of pasta with 2 guys, and all three of us had
our fill. The half order is enough for two people to share. The
atmosphere is fun - there is butcher paper and crayons on the table
to draw on. The wine is served in an on-your-honor system. You
serve yourself from the open bottles on the side tables, and then
mark down each glass you drink. They serve delicious garlic bread
balls as an appetizer.

Atmosphere is usually loud and fun. Pasta is average at best,
but you get a lot for your money. Chianti is selve serve on the honor
system. Great little garlic dough balls fresh out of the oven.

This is a GREAT place for family dining, or for a first date! Casual
and fun with really GREAT food! But be ready to wait in line if you
don't make reservations.
