Been there 2 times, once to eat at the sushi bar and once with guys from
work and their wifes at the steak house side. The sushi was not fresh
when I ate it during lunch. Sushi must ALWAYS be fresh so this was disappointing
since this place was highly recommended. There are much better sushi
restaurants in Hampton Roads (Kotobuke and Domo for instance), so
if its sushi you want don't come here. The steak house side was good,
the chef was very entertaining however I was suprised at the amount
of butter used. I have eaten at Japanese steak houses that only use (sesame
seed?) oil. It was very tasty none the less.
The food was great. I love being able 2 see my food cooked. It lets
me be at ease seeing how you always hear instances about being
unsanitary with your food in dining places. My only problem was
sitting at our area with people I didn't know.
It is an interesting coversation piece having the cook prepare
your food right in front of you. It is tasty and reasonable priced.
I would recommend it for large groups so you don't have to sit at
a table with people you don't know!
one of the best japanese restaurants in the tidewater area. sushi
bar and full service alcohol in front room with exquisite japanese
table cooking in back room.. prices are moderate. service is
excellent, food is very good and the table chefs are entertaining.
i have eaten there 15 times in 8 years and have had no bad experiences.
Went there for prom in 1992.
I got food poisoning. I have never been back. Sorry to be cruel.
But When I get sick at a place I never return.
I had the seafood platter and the so-called lobster tail looked
green. They told me that that was the color of a lobster. Sorry
I dont think so..
