i have been to zelmo's several times for lunch and i thought that it was ok (the blackened chicken sandwich is the bomb)along with the fact that everything is super hot. and while your waiting for the food you can be served a beer from that beautiful waitress with the short shorts on (she is sooo nice)!! less

How can a Cajun restaurant be Cajun without red beans and rice? I was so disappointed! And what exactly does "Cajun Gourmet" mean? Isn't that a contradiction in terms!
When I eat Cajun I want down and dirty, sear-my-taste-buds-off greens and beans and corn bread and blackened fish with holandaise sauce. Oh yeah, and don't forget the RED BEANS AND RICE!
This is a bar, with a bar's atmosphere, and a bar's service. Not a restaurant serving "gourmet" food.
Now then. All that being said, the food was excellent ... for a bar! And since it is in Joliet, it gets the three stars instead of two! The menu is amazingly adventurous for a bar, with items like garlic mashed potatoes and blackened pork roast. The specials had things like artichokes, eggplant and scallops in the ingredients. less
