I love Frankenmuth. When we go downstate we detour back up through here, stop at Bronner's and eat at Zehnders. Love the chicken dinner and have to go downstairs and get some bread and jam to bring home. Yes, it is a tourist trap, but the m ... more

I love Frankenmuth. When we go downstate we detour back up through here, stop at Bronner's and eat at Zehnders. Yes, it is a tourist trap, but the many beautiful flowers, the picturesque horse and buggies and the neat shops make it all so enjoyable. less

Average would have to say. I have had better at other places for all the high raves and talk of this place expected much much better. Four of us dined and had the family style dinner. Chicken breast are cut so you get like a quarter of one, the potatoes are instant, noodles get like paste, soup is Mrs. Grass, gravy is awful, we expected home cooked and delicious. Little disappointed with the quality of food for the price. Our waiter was terrible, I think we had the only one that was NOT doing his job the others seem to be on the stick. Had to wait awful long for any kind of drink refills and finally gave up. To get some more food was like pulling his leg , for a meal that was almost 100 dollars expectations were not met. The little dish of ice cream was tasty I have to say. You may take leftovers home but our waiter was so kind and gave the 4 of us ONE to go container so gee should we take chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw that had a dirt taste to it, so what ever you can cram in the container I guess you can. Other tables got nice bags and several to go containers, but then again they received a nice tip unlike our waiter whom got what he deserved. Wouldn't waste my time on this restaurant. less

Basically the same thing as across the street. High priced chicken! Again its atmosphere you pay for. It keeps the wife happy to take her to either here or the Barvarian Inn once a year and do some shopping. I have learned to leave the kids home. ... more
