This is a comfortable casual restaurant with serious food and wine that has been around for about 10 years. The menu is very creative and I have never had a bad meal there. There is a new menu every week, and the chef has an incredible palate for balancing his flavors. The food is very impressive and I always find something I havent ever had before, whether a new spice or preparation of meat. The wine list has all of the "hot" wines that you could hope to find, Williams Selym, Dehlinger, Peter Michael, Testarossa, Qupe, etc. There is also a reserve wine list to drool over (bring lots of cash!) less

Without a doubt, this is one of the finest restaurants in Sonoma County - perhaps in the Bay Area. The location may be out of the way and the facility may be a little funky but with the first bite of anything you choose to order you know you're in a very special place. Every review by the local Press-Democrat guru-of-menu, Jeff Cox, gives the Willowside Cafe a very good to excellent rating and even though we don't often agree, he's right on the mark here. If you're thinking of just dropping in, don't!, because they usually' require at least a weeks notice for reservations. less
