I love this place! Speaking as someone who has eaten at some of Edmonton's "so-called" best restaurants, Von's rates five-star as a total dining experience. From the minute you walk in the door, the fabulous service is overwhelming. A smiling hostess asks to take your coat and shows you to your seat. Walking into the dimly-lit room, the atmosphere seems to draw you in. With beautiful plants, antique wash stands and unique lamps, there isn't a bad seat in the house. If you're lucky, you'll be sat in front of the huge stone wood-burning fire place. I'm told that these seats are reserved well in advance. The serving staff are exceptional and the bussers are first class. The chef creates meals of the finest quality as well. Whether you're big on steak like me or are a pasta lover..etc, you'll be sure to find something that appeals to you. Try the B-B-Q Mixed Grill, or the Shrimp and Scallops Provincial. The dessert tray is full of sinful creations and should NOT be passed up! My pics are the Strawberry- Amaretto Cheesecake and the Chocolate Obsession cake. Completely decadent! Overall, Von's makes a wonderful night out and I have recommended it to all of my friends. less

I am relatively new to Edmonton and have been searching for a great steak place since Alberta is known to be Beef Country. My first attempt was based on recommendations for the none other than Hardware Grill. I'll never go there again. Von's was absolutely delicious. Though the service needs improvement. Let me elaborate. We were well greeted by the hostess and all the staff, though our server was not quite on par with the level of service and prices for this upscale restaurant. The Sterling Silver Beef was outstanding. Make a note that this aged beef when mentioned on any menu must be "Sterling Silver..." or it is not. This refers to the aging of the beef. Enjoy your dinner!!! less

We had stak, potatoe baked and veg with caesar salad, well it was the best steak ever and we all had the some wonderful time. As the waitress we had she was the best, as she made sure we all were looked after well all 10 of us. less
