As far a local, open 24/7, dive-y diners go, TJ's takes the cake (in the greatest way possible!). It's ideal to visit after a night of boozin', meeting up with the gang, or a dirt-cheap, no-frills date for a high school couple. You must try the Blue Ribbon (3.49 gets you 2 hotcakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, etc, etc). In recent years, TJ's has expanded its menu (pizza, wraps, etc), and gone smoke-free. You'll wait for a table during peak weekend hours, but the service is great (the servers always make sure your coffee is filled) and the menu prices can't be beat. The decor is dated (think 1960/70's orange seatcovers), but who cares? less

this is the best "value" restaurant on earth. i've been going there since i was a little girl. the servers are fast...very fast! you can wait sometimes- but the turnover is fast as well! during normal hours- the managers stand up at the front - making sure tables get cleaned promply and they also greet and cash out the customers!! the food is great- whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner- they have it! they don't have veggies or pasta- but- basically everything else!! they even have pizza! now what "diner" has pizza? i always see the managers and staff working hard and therefore i would like to think of it as more than a diner--------- a family restuarant. this place has been around for almost 40 years- it deserves to be called more than a diner!!! less

Although not a stainless steel type classic diner this place is very similar, open 24/7, good cheap food, variety of customers, college students, workers, locals, seniors, etc.One of my kids went to Swarthmore College and he tells me this is the nearest place that was open 24 hours and students would come. The breakfast is a real bargain. They have a blue plate special for less then 3 dollars that includes eggs, pancakes, coffe, juice.home fries, etc. They only take cash. On some days it can be crowded. Youy can usually tell by the number of cars in the lot but people are served and eat quickly. less

Very good value meal selection. If you want a normal sized meal at an inexpensive price, you came to the right place. The value mean was just right size, unless you are a big eater. It was just right for me, as I usually don't finish what most diner's serve. They also have larger portion meals on the menue for those with larger appetites. The food was excellent quality. I drove past Tom Jones twice a week and it always looked busy. I am glad I satisfied my curiousity and enjoyed a good meal. less

It includes 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausage patties, choice of juice, and toast (upon request). Take out is also available. This restaurant does a brisk business. It even does well in the wee hours, especially on thurs, fri, & sat. This is not the place to go on a first date. less
