I visited The Granary for the first time yesterday when my bowling group had their annual Christmas Party. I was favorably impressed at the wide variety of selections and the size of the portions. The service was excellent and so were the entrees. Everyone in our group of about 40 were very pleased with our meals and the service. Since it was a rainy, cloudy day, the scenery was not at it's best. But that did not detract from the enjoyment of warm, friendly service, delicious meals and reasonable prices. I'm looking forward to returning to the Granary often - even though it's about 45 minutes from my home. less

For awhile, The Granary enjoyed a good reputation, bit that has plunged over the past several months. We've visited this restaurant three times over the past 5 months and have been disappoited each time. Service has been less than attentive and the quality of the food is inconsistant. A chef problem? Who knows since this is a problem is this area (as it is in just about every seasonal area). less

Probably the best view at sunset - particularly from the small bar and the west side of the large dining room. Located on the Sassafras River among several boat dockages. Food is good to excellent - try their Carb Imperial (excellent). Service is very good. During the season (May thru Sept.) this can get VERY busy and they don't take reservations. There is a casual grill/bar downstairs that is locally popular in the summer. less

This was our second visit to this restaurant and the service, food, and atmosphere left us charmed. Appetizers included large and delicate crab dip, stuffed shrimp, homemade smoked and battered motzerella that were the opposite of typical bar fare. Entrees were generous, the Leg of Lamb quite good; a seafood combination included lobster, muscells, scallops, and clams served in a bowl of pasta for under $20. less
