Caesars offers a unique dining-cum-entertainment experience with its glorious Bacchanal. Named for the ancient Roman god of wine and revelry, Bacchanal is more than a restaurant. It is theater, with an orgiastic menu served in a palace of pleasure, set in a regal court dominated by a massive marble pool. Servers and attendants are attired in lavish costumes recalling the courtiers of ancient Rome. It is in this dramatic setting that honored guests are dazzled with an evening of unparalleled dining -- a munificent all-inclusive gourmet feast including unlimited wine tastings for a set price of $49.95 per person.
The five-course banquet kicks off with a dramatic presentation of antipasto, including massive shrimps, artichoke hearts, stuffed grape leaves, and an elaborate array of chilled appetizers adorning an illuminated pedestal.
There's a creamy lobster bisque, as well as specialties du jour, followed by a traditional Caesar salad or the special Gladiator Salad with roquefort dressing. Sumptuous entrees are created in a procession of bounties from the woodlands of Rome and the realm of Neptune. Among the favorites are grilled rack of lamb, herbed veal chop with wild mushrooms, seared beef tenderloin, rock shrimp crusted sea bass and salmon, or half lobster and tequila shrimp over linguine.
Desserts are dazzling to the eye as well as the appetite, and include flambeed bananas foster or cherries jubilee over vanilla ice cream, praline imperial with a silky white mousse and passion chocolate cake layered with chocolate granache and chopped walnuts.
Throughout the evening, you're attended by a wine goddess pouring selections of white, red, rose wines and champagne to complement each course. A harpist sets the tone with soft background music recalling the courts of Nero and Caesar, and a strolling guitarist happily obliges with requests for your favorites. A wandering magician tantalizes diners with mystical sleight-of-hand tableside, and costumed attendancts offer pampering back and shoulder massages between courses. It's an evening that guests remember for a very long time, and the all-inclusive price of $49.95 makes it one of the best luxury values in town. less
