My wife and I were taken to this place on our way home from Reno by a pair of UC-Davis graduates, my wife's son and his wife. We enjoyed the atmosphere (micro-brewery with a German cuisine). We were treated to a beer sampler, then each of of chose a different beer. Excellant beers. Then we enjoyed lunch. A half order of the Chicken sala was more than my daughter-in-law could eat. My wife loved her Portobello sandwich. Mu Step-son devoured his Reuben Sandwich while I enjoyed the Pork Schnitzel.
I'd stop here again. less

dr. eric johnson introduced me to this restaurant on our way home from tahoe. besides having great beer, this restaurant serves some really tasty german fud. ok, maybe i'm not the best judge of german fud, u'r right! so i'll refrain from giving out a hasty 5 stars cos, no, i don't really understand german fud... schnitzels! mmm... yummy schnitzels. sausages! mmm... yummy sausages. don't be shy 'bout eating animals here... they do have some lighter fud, but the heavy stuffs the best. have some beer n' meat; that's 'bout the best thing u can do 4 urself here. there's a great sausage sampler plate available as a dinner entrée or as an appetizer to be shared.
man, if i ever go into davis, i'll try my best to stop @ sudwerk. it's a great place to stop in @ on ur way home from snowboarding. it's got a high ceiling, european/german feel. i love all the international flags decorating the place. it's not quiet. it's a place to go w/ a bunch'a rowdy friends. it's classy tho', in that it's not a nasty, dive bar, no! i mean, it's not a place i'd take my honey by ourselves, but it's a good place 4 a group'a friends, as i sed.
hungarian goulash is good. schnitzels r good. sausages r good. beer is very good. have some. less
