Stella's has undergone a big change in the past year under new ownership....supposedly still in the family. Terrific changes to the facility...it brings it up to par with the facilities of metro Omaha burger joint....on the negative side, prices have skyrocketed about the same rate as the gas prices this past summer...and the burgers just dont seem to have the same greasy character that I used to visit them for over twenty years. Nice place....great facility....exhorbitant prices....average burgers......they get a three from me this year. less

My first visit to Stella's was in 1963 when stationed at Offutt AFB. Stella still was working the grill. She had a large pan of choice ground beef next to her, grabbed a handful and slapped it on the grill. No forming of patties... just sma ... more

My first visit to Stella's was in 1963 when stationed at Offutt AFB. Stella still was working the grill. She had a large pan of choice ground beef next to her, grabbed a handful and slapped it on the grill. No forming of patties... just smashed it with the spatula, added salt and pepper and voila! Before you knew it you had a great, great hamburger. I returned 20 years later with a family, and although Stella had retired, her kids (and probably grandkids) were still serving some of the best hamburgers I've ever had. And what a wonderful, friendly atmosphere. This year my child bride and I are taking a trip from Texas to Omaha, and I'm going to introduce her to one of my great memories. less

This place is a real hole in the wall!! a dump, a dive. But that's what makes this place special. Great food, great price, won't go home hungery. Where else can you get fries in a bowl and your burger on a napkin? First time I was there was in the early 80's. They've expanded since then and still have $1.oo 12oz draft beers. (cans are 2.00) Burger, fries and iced tea was 4.80 in April 2005. Gotta go there. By the way, Stella is long gone but her Grand daughter is doing all the cooking. less

Stella's serves great burgers. The buns are larger than most, as is the hamburger, which appears to be very lean beef. The fries are made daily by hand. Although the food is served on a napkin, there is no problem if you bring your own plate in ... more

Stella's serves great burgers. The buns are larger than most, as is the hamburger, which appears to be very lean beef. The fries are made daily by hand. Although the food is served on a napkin, there is no problem if you bring your own plate in with you. It is a little small inside and appears to not have the beauty of an expensive resturant, it is still homey and gives it a touch of the old diner look and feel. For a place with a rating of 2.75 stars, it sure does pack them in during lunch to the point where people have to wait in line to be seated or go elsewhere.
A burger, fries, and a soda runs about $4.50. less
