This was a hard one to rate. While the atmosphere and the service rate a 4, the food is just kind of okay, some things better than others, and you have about a 50/50 chance of getting something that you'll like and finish. The chicken pot pie is good. I'm not enough of a brew person to rate that part, but some people have told me they like the home brews here. A crap shoot, I guess. There are better places to eat in the area. less

This was a better place before the owners sons started running the place. The beer has gone down hill quickly and the food is not consistant. One day the fish and chips are good the next cold greasy junk. It is a nice place to meet people and relax, but eat before you go and stay with the bar food and the bottle beer. less

Ths Ship Inn has the atmosphere of a geniune English Pub. Be prepared to take your time with dinner as everything is cooked to order, and as in England, you cannot rush a dinner in a true English Pub, as one tends to sit and go through a few pints while waiting for dinner. From time to time they offer special nights with true English or Irish/Scottish entertainment. A great place to enjoy good food, good friends and good entertainment. All at a good price. less

The Ship Inn provides the guest a warm atmosphere in which to have a great drink and some good eats amoung friends.
The food is predominantly English in nature and may seem a bit foreign to the majority of patrons. However, it is reasonably priced and quite filling. Although, being full may have more to do with which of the fine beers and ales they have. I've spent a lot of time trying them all, and my quest continues. If Scotch is more your fare, worry not, there's enough to keep you busy for a while.
On occasion live entertainment is provided, but it is far from intrusive. You can generally carry on a conversation without resorting to yelling at your fellow compatriot.
All in all an enjoyable place. less
