I love this place. The food and service are always consistent, the ambiance is warm and friendly and considering how popular the place is its always quiet enough to carry on conversations. I frequently take business associates here when they come in from out of town and everyone looks forward to it. As a single woman I find that its also a place I would not be concerned about going to alone if I wanted to treat myself. While a little pricey there is so much food that I can get 2 more meals of out my doggie bag so I have no complaints about that either ! I've had menu items and specials and never had a bad meal. I highly recommend it for special family occasions and business requirements as well as a good old date night. They do a wonderful job of appropriate seating based on your preferences for space. less

I have been going to this restaurant off and on for years. I have tried their signature prime rib as well as their seafood dishes. I can remember only one instance where I felt the meal was subpar. Yes, the portions are extemely large, and everything is cooked to order - so your wait may be longer than normal but I have always had an extremely good meal. Their stuffed mushroom appetizer is the best I have ever had. If you're tired of overpaying for a great steak at Ruth's Chris or Mortons, and you would like a much more pleasant atmosphere the 7 stars is the place to go... less

The one thing that stands out most in this historical restaurant is the huge portions. While this can be a benefit it can also be a detriment, as while you get your fill of food, because the portions are so large the food can become bland; they are so large that it's difficult to cook some of the foods well. Some of the meat would be underdone, but the sides were done well enough to please almost any palette. If you're looking for a fine restaurant with exquisite food, this isn't the place you want to go. If you want to fill up on decent foods you'll find yourself satisfied by this restaurant. less

The Seven Stars Inn in is the high-end diner's definition of "you get what you pay for." The prices are quite high, but the portions are huge, you WILL take half your meal home for lunch the next day. The Filet Mignon is incredible, served on a large oval cutting board, vegetables on each side and Dutchess Potatoes all around. The presentation, portions, athmosphere, service, even the coffee, make this a meal worth every penny.
The history of the building is also rather impressive. It was originally a stop on the Carriage-Route to Harrisburg, in the late 1700's. I have been there many times in the last 20+ years. I have never had a less than perfect meal and it really does feel like a piece history. less
