From the outside, one might think the Sayreville Bar and Restaurant is a hole in the wall, but these places tend to have the best food. They have great specials and a nifty salad bar with soup and tasty bread. Prices are reasonable and service is good. Be careful coming out of the ladies room, though, because the kitchen door might hit you in the face. less

I LOVE this place! I've been dining here for over 15 years. The service is always good, the food is always great and the atmosphere is very comfortable. There are two dining rooms downstairs plus a few booths in the bar area. There was also another small dining room upstairs with another salad bar, but I don't know if they still use it or not. They have a wonderful salad, soup and mussel bar. Their soups are always so good, you know they're homemade. The mussels are in a red sauce and are always delicious and all you can eat. I have had sandwiches, prime rib, seafood and everything in between here. It's consistently good. I look forward to dining here because I know my money is going to be spent well on a really good meal. less
