Friday Feb.18, 2005 My husband and I took our two kids to Ryans on the loop in Longview Tx my steak was burnt the other food like vegtables were aweful I decided I would visit the desert bar it was worse their were cakes that looked liked some little kid smashed them up none of us got full we walked out without eating much at all and spending $45. that was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. A huge buffet, but the food never seems fresh, the place is always crowded, the waitstaff outnumbered, and you will always wait in long lines. Not my idea of a nice time. Having said that...the kids love it (but they like McD's and Chucky Cheese ... more

Any place that herds you through it like leading cattle to troughs is generally bad in my book, but Ryan's seems to be much better than the other major player in this genre of restaurants--Golden Corral. Buffet offers good selection and salad bar ... more

Any place that herds you through it like leading cattle to troughs is generally bad in my book, but Ryan's seems to be much better than the other major player in this genre of restaurants--Golden Corral. Buffet offers good selection and salad bar items tend to be very fresh. Baked goods are excellent. In fact, the only problems here were the over-abundance of fried foods and a need to clean the soft-serve ice cream machine very badly. less
