This place is one of the better buffet restaurant I have eaten at and has wide variety o f menu items over 100 including Dim Sum, Sushi Bar ,Bubble Tea and Belgian waffles all for one great price for the wide selection. The staff are very friendly treat you like royalty and excellent service. There are very few places that offer this wide variety of food items on regular basis for one low price under 25 dollars. I recall going when they first opened, and being happy. As the years progress, I have become less enthralled with the place. Being a teenager with a couple of hollow legs may have been why I liked it when it was new, but I really do believe there was better quality then. I do admit to liking the place as my 5 children were growing up, but that was primarily due to there being something for everyone. The ability to keep all the kids happy was more than enough to overcome my poor opinion of the food. Now, I avoid the place when I can. Being a big, busy buffet, the place is never really clean once the doors are open for business. The food is really bland, in an effort not to offend anyone’s palate. Never undercooked, you don’t have to worry about health concerns from that. Often overcooked, unfortunately. Salad bar and dessert bar are the real saving graces here, as you have some tasty options there. If you have a taste for… well, taste, this is not the place for you. If you are after pleasing a group of people (primarily children) that have varying tastes, or are looking to scarf down as much food per dollar as possible, try it out. less

Upon arrival there was a woman complaining about hair in her food. We should have turned around right there and left as this is a definate red flag. I needed to use the washroom prior to eating and it was very dirty. Which is another red flag. The food was poor in quality. It gives you the feeling that you just ate very cheap or fast food. This restaurant is questionable at best for cleansliness. We will not go back. Bon Apetite! less

As far as vomiting 5 hours after leaving, sorry mate, doesnt happen with cooked food that quickly. Check what u had for supper the night before, or re-evaluate your personel cleaning habits. less

My girlfriend, her two children, and me and my child, went last night for the first time ever. We arrived at 20 after 7, and left at quarter to 9. When we left, the cramping and the dizziness started. By the time we got home I could barely stand up. At 2 am this morning, all h-e-double hockey sticks broke loose in my house, literally. My son and I have both been vomiting and having horrible diarrhea ever since. We had a doctor make a house call, and prescribe Gravol for the nausea. Other than that, all we can do is wait. In the meantime, the employee of the Royal Fork was very rude to me on the phone and very reluctantly took the information I was giving her and before I hung up, I made sure she was going to turn the facts over the the health department. She refused to give me any sort or refund, or even a credit, but as far as I'm concerned, any chance of me or my loved ones ever returning to this place was flushed down the toilet with our vomit. I have a call into their head office in the States. I WILL NOT stop until I get my money back. I'm sorry, but paying $32 to be sick like this just isn't the deal I was hoping to get by eating at The Royal Fork Buffet. less

The royal fork buffet is the perfect place to eat.You do not have to leave a tip and you can eat as much as you want.The food there is quite good and the pastries are all made from scratch at the restaurant.Kids love it because they get to go down the buffet line and help themselves to their own food.There is also a self serve ice cream bar where i had a terrific sunday(better than dairy queen).My family and I enjoy eating there and expect a buffet line to be slightly messy do to the high traffic volume on the buffet line.If you expect perfection, then go eat somewhere else.The royal fork isn't perfect, but it is a good dining experience for the buck.You may want to call ahead of time to see what it on the menu the day you are going.The salad bar is always the same for the most part but the soups and hot food items do vary from day to day. less

The only bad thing I can think to say is that you may have to put up with possibly sitting at a dirty table. The place does an amazing turnover but that's only because of what they offer and the price. With chicken ham and beef (sliced in front of you) and some seafood which includes white fish, cod I think, breaded shrimp and clam strips that I could eat 2 pounds of, a good variety of what you would have at home without having to cook it. An average salad bar and 3-4 desserts. I recommend going 30-40 minutes earlier than you normally would on the weekends, if you don't, prepare to stand in line for up to 1/2 an hour. less

I wish they could build a second Royal Fork is about the only complaint I would have. Every time I'm in Grand Forks or Fargo I always go to the Royal Fork. I have tried other buffet restaurants and they pale in comparison. less
