Ristorante Portobello is a very unique place to come to enjoy either lunch or dinner. As there food and service is awesome. They have many things on the walls suchs as stuffed birds and interesting pics from the past. The also have a patio where u can seat to eat or have a drink when the weather is good . Awesome place to come with friends or ur spouse. less

Ristorante Portobello is located in the heart of historic Skagway, AK. Enjoy lunch, dinner or just appetizers in the pub of this airy italian bistro. You can sit outside, weather permitting, and watch the tourists stroll by, or watch the historic narrow gauge railroad pass through on it's way to the klondike. There is even internet hookups in the pub for those chipheads who have to get on the net while in AK. The walls are lined with various stuffed birds and the seating is comfortable after a long day of walking. It was nice to see the tables spaced so far apart, so you can spread out and relax. The food and service are outstanding. The caprese salad, which featured fresh buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes with capers and organic mesclun greens was superb. I was shocked to find such a delight in Skagway! I also enjoyed the linguine al vongole, chock full of succulent alaskan clams in a rich broth. (This dish was reminiscent of wor mein) The wine list is great, as is the selection of local and imported beers. While I did not try them, the pizzas looked great, with a large selection of toppings including smoked salmon, pesto, roasted red peppers and calamata olives. Of course, there are plenty of pasta dishes, the everpresent halibut and chips, organic salads, foccacia sandwiches and seafood dinners. For Alaska, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are immense to match the scenery. Unfortunately, few dishes offer portobella mushrooms. Take-out is also available for those sticking around, or headed back to the ferry or cruise ship. Great atmosphere, great food, great town. How can you lose? less
