When we first moved to the area (we lived in Mullins for two years) Richard's is one of the first places we ate. I loved how it looked like a "joint". No pretense .. just a place to eat. Clean, no nonsense. I've never, ever found fried chicken like this place. It came on a plate with a wedge of iceberg lettuce and homemade thousand island dressing. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Sometimes I still wake up with my mouth watering, thinking about that fried chicken - so light, so crispy, so juicy .. omg, I'm dying! I live in Illinois now and we just can't get fried chicken like that. Or thousand island dressing, for that matter. The memory of that lunch is something that I will always carry with me. I always eat here when doing business in Marion. If you have extra time on your hands go to nearby Florence or Myrtle Beach where you have more choices for dining. They offer sandwiches and steaks and all the normal things you would expect ... more

They offer sandwiches and steaks and all the normal things you would expect to find at a family style restaurant except they also have a bar. less
