This is a branch restaurant of the original "Casa de Botin (Horno de Asar)" located in Madrid, Spain (founded in the year 1725 and listed as the "oldest restaurant in the world", according to the 'Guiness Book of World Records'). The original in Madrid, was novelist Ernest Hemingway's "favorite restaurant" and is mentioned in "Death in the Afternoon" and other books. This new addition in Miami, is operated by a son of the family owners in Madrid, and the food and service are excellent! Although not as delicious as the original in Madrid, this restaurant offers the same signature dishes, including: "Tapas" or Spanish appetisers like: Shrimp in Garlic sauce, Serrano ham, Fried squid "calamares", Gaspacho soup, Fabada stew, Madrid style "Cocido stew", etc. The entrees include the outstanding "Roast suckling pig", Roast Lamb", Filet mignon "Botin" style, and more! Paella is a bit expensive at $16.95 per person. Desserts are the typical spanish: Flan "caramel custard", the delicious Manchego cheese with "membrillo (quince)", etc. The wine list features Spanish wines and sangria.
