Having been born and raised in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn NY, I know good deli..There was a family owned deli on every block!! Reins is actually decent..Not the best, but of good quality.. For the person that complained about fatty corned beef? Listen bubbie you always asked for LEAN corned beef or pastrami.. To be frank how would New Englanders know quality deli??? The same thing happens with Italian food.The true ethnic flavor subsides as you are further from the landing neighborhoods of the orginal immigrants. it becomes homogenized and bland. less

Listen everyone. I grew up in NY and was definately spoiled by great delis such as Katz's, Carnegie, Stage etc. Later on as an adult, I became a transplant and moved to CT. No place in the greater Hartford area to get good (or decent)Jewish deli. Rein's? If put anywhere in NYC, it would go bankrupt!! Fatty corned beef, piled low on stale rye bread. The New Englanders don't have a clue, and think this is good food. Ha!! Most of them don't even know where NY is let alone eating at a good delicatessan. Every deli that opened in the Hartford area died a miserable death because: A. New Englanders will not pay 10 bucks for a sandwich (they prefer a 2.00 tuna on white) B. Have never been exposed to great delis. C. Are too busy worrying about secret Santa gifts at the office (usually Aetna). Rein's has mediocre fare at average pricing. That's how they've survived less

I think that for anyone that has frequented real NY delis, Reins will be a disappointment. Yes, the food is better than a lot of the other local lunch places (Vernon has little to offer), but I would say it is a middle of the road NY style Deli. S ... more

I think that for anyone that has frequented real NY delis, Reins will be a disappointment. Yes, the food is better than a lot of the other local lunch places (Vernon has little to offer), but I would say it is a middle of the road NY style Deli. So if you were to plop it in the middle of NYC it would be average at best. For the middle of nowhere boring Vernon, Rein's adds a nice touch of excitement. Don't travel too far just to come though unless you are passing through. It is right off the highway, but not worth the trip in itself. less

This New York style deli has a huge menu of all sorts of deli sandwiches, salads, soups, sides, breakfast items, etc., etc. The crowds of patrons attest to the popularity of the menu offerings of real"comfort food". $10. or less will comfortably satisfy a hearty appetite which will be whetted by the complimentary half sour pickles delivered to your table as you sit down. This place is busy but if you can get in the door, it's worth the wait as the line moves fast. Best to go at an off meal time. less
