Cool place. Nice outside seating area - pefect for a nice southwest dining experience. Though - we ate in the bar becasue it wasn't crowded at the time like the rest of the place. Started out with the Adobo shrimp that were excellent! Then had their version of fajitas with all 3 meats that were cooked to perfection! Nice and tender and very tastey! Margaritas were good - service was fast and friendly. We'll go back before we leave the area. less

Don't miss the enchiladas mariscos - absolutely outstanding, and my favorite entree. I highly recommend this family owned, friendly, reasonably priced eatery. Don't skip the margarita! Their house margarita is the best in the state. less

THIS PLACE ROCKS. Better arrive early! It's always slammed due to its scrumptious FOOD AND DRINK! My kid's love it too :) I've frequented this charming Hispanic Colonial Ranch style restaurant more times than I can count. LOVE IT! The inside and outside decor is so aesthetically pleasing. Talk about AUTHENTIC Mexican food - My husband was hispanic and an amazing hispanic chef. I continue to dine in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Tijuana, Rosarita Beach, Mexico City, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, etc., and lived in San Diego for 45 years before moving to Mesa, AZ, so I'm more than familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine. There are a plethora of hospitable waiters from various ethnicities. The quaint Tanqueria is fun to have a drink at, or take it over to the patio, complete with a welcoming Kiva fireplace and Mariachi band. What a variety in the menu! My favorite entree is the Chicken in Mango Glaze with savory Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. Mmmm... For dessert, you've got to try the Chocolate Decadence! Better than Godiva or Sees! When friends/family from California come to visit us, we take them to Rancho De Tia Rosa. Rancho De Tia Rosa has every authentic spice you can imagine, which typical homes can't acquire. California has the most amazing hispanic restaurants, but when native San Diegans visit us, they always want to head over to Rancho de Tia Rosa! Anyone who negates this establishment needs to have their jealous head examined. DO NOT listen to their twisted, bombastic comments! The "Rancho" is no misnomer. This place is a gracious, four-acre village housing a colonial-style restaurant, a separate "taqueria" and a garden and greenhouse where organic vegetables are grown. With its colorful tile floors, fountains and soaring ceilings with elaborate chandeliers and hand-hewn wood beams, the huge main restaurant defines elegance. The gourmet Mexican food lives up to its surroundings, but the quality far exceeds the prices. The most expensive thing on the menu is Baja-style shrimp Mazatlan (well under $20) -- large twin skewers of meaty grilled shrimp served over Spanish rice with grilled pineapples, bell peppers and onions. Enchiladas Monterey has two flour tortillas stuffed with moist, marinated, roasted beef coated with red chile and tomatillo sauces. Another outstanding menu item, when available, is the chile relleno, a beautifully crafted poblano chile bursting with pork picadillo, cheese and pine nuts. less
