I do not understand why they build these franchise restaurants so small in larger cities. This establishment is tiny to say the least! Upon arrival, expect to wait a minimum of twenty minutes before you'll be seated. There is no way you could get in and out of Johnny Carino's during lunch within an hour so don’t bother. This particular Carino's has a great menu with lots of favorite Italian food selections. Salads, pizza, hot sandwiches, specialty plates, meats and fish, pasta, appetizers, and a few desert selections. Carino's has what the call the grandioso family plates for most every dish they serve. The grandioso feeds two to three people. We found this to be a different twist to the typical menu offering. We started our meal with their stuffed mushrooms. They arrived somewhat burned and over garlicky. The main dishes that we ordered were their 12 layer homemade lasagna, shrimp scampi, angel hair with artichokes, and a five cheese pizza. Everything was delicious, very flavorful, prepared to order, with generous servings. The lasagna is fantastic! Our server was friendly though we had to ask for additional bread, and she was rather slow at returning to the table to check to see if we needed anything. Overall I rate this new Las Cruces establishment as very good. I would recommend the restaurant, and will personally return to dine again. less

A non-chained establishment! Located on North Valley Drive across from Mayfield High School, R & R know how to make a great pizza! I've tried a few of their subs which wern't bad. I've heard that their hamburgers as good as well ... more

A non-chained establishment! Located on North Valley Drive across from Mayfield High School, R & R know how to make a great pizza! I've tried a few of their subs which wern't bad. I've heard that their hamburgers as good as well. They have a convienent drive-thru, you can dine in, or if you prefer they deliver! I would highly recommend this establishment (2004). less
