This restaurant is the reason that I want to move home to Pittsburgh. Their sandwiches were originally designed for truck drivers. In the days before refrigeration, truckers would get huge blocks of ice in downtown Pittsburgh and pick up produce or meats and fish in the strip district. They would get a sandwich with coleslaw, fries, their favorite meat, their favorite condiments, and even a fried egg on it. This way they could eat a whole meal easily while they were driving. Hopefully, they would get to their destination before the ice melted too! You must try this place out!!! less
