Ponti has really got a hold on me. I always gravitate to it when I am thinking of having a romantic dinner "al fresco" with my boyfriend or a casual night in the bar with the ladies. It truly is a hidden gem in a really great location, so parking is easy and there is no reason to fight traffic through downtown. The view is awesome, and the staff is friendly, witty, and professional all at once. The menu is exceptional and varied with chicken, seafood, pasta, steaks, lamb. Their Grilled King Salmon is served with soy sauce, herbs & lime juice (heavenly), as well as sauteed spinach and whipped potatoes. Hands down the best salmon dish I've had in Seattle. The Thai Curry Penne and the Lamb Shank must be tried at least once. If I go with my friends we always order the Tempura Prawns, Cajun Barbequed Prawns, Dungeness Crab Spring Rolls and a Filet to share. The bar is welcoming and in the summer they slide open the entire wall so it's full of fresh air. Very European / Mediterranean feel to the place. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails are well made. I recommend that everyone visit at least once. less

I visited Ponti with out-of-town business guests who wanted a Seattle seafood experience. It was later than the normal dinner hour so there may be a explanation for the salmon and halibut entrees to be just a wee bit overcooked...trying to give 'em a break here. The waitstaff was out of this world (they can ruin any really good meal, right?) with friendly and attentive service. My guests were impressed. We were still there after closing and no one prompted us up to leave, we even had to ask for the check. I would not hesitate to return here, in fact might look for a excuse. less

The crab spring rolls were taseless, as was the miso salmon. The Thai curry penne was a lot of pasta with very a very meager amount of seafood, although the sauce was tasty. The braised lamb shank needs a much stronger and tastier braising liquid. The taste of the underflavored meat became almost unpleasant towards the end. Not a value here. less

The only thing keeping this from a five-star rating is the presentation of the food--my plate arrived with my vegetables squashed together when I would have preferred them to remain separate. The patio is lovely for outdoor dining during good weather; the bar makes a cozy spot for a chilly evening. less
