This is my favorite Thai place in Houston. It's small with clean white tablecloths and cloth napkins, so it feels elegant yet is quite affordable. The owners/staff are friendly and helpful with the menu. My personal fave is the Mee Krob, a delicious sweet/spicy fried mound of thin crunchy noodles which can be eaten as an appetizer or dessert. I also prefer their nicely balanced not overly greasy Pad Thai noodles (over Nit Noy's or any other Thai) and their chicken satay--both feature a spicy peanut flavoring that enhances the dishes just right. On the weekends they have a wonderful buffet available from 11am-2pm which allows you to sample a little bit of the many dishes from the regular menu. And don't forget to drink the Thai tea or Caffe Sua Da (sp?), the intensely rich hot drip coffee that is then poured over ice and layered with sweetened condensed milk. The whole experience at Patu's is a delight. less
