Formerly Pars Diner on Montgomery, this is a medium-to-upscale Mediterranean restaurant that specializes in Persian and Greek food. The decor is very Middle Eastern with lots of curtains, and the largest dining area is set up to look like the inside of a tent. On weekends there is occasionally live music or even belly dancers. You may dine either at an ordinary table or at a traditional floor table. There are two or three serving areas so that the restaurant is not noisy. Tables are not too close together. The restaurant does have high chairs but children are not encouraged. Average entree price is on the order of $20 and beer and wine are served. A reasonable range of wines are available that work well with both the Persian and Greek menus. The quality of food is outstanding. Having been there several times the last few years, and having brought several guests, I've seen or tasted a good third of the menu. Quality is very high and the portions are generous. Service is very good but not obtrusive. This restaurant is definitely worth a special trip, and is an appropriate place to bring a date. less
