The Taste of Thailand just like Mham used to make. Originally called Thai Mhe Upand Bangkok House, this is not your Michigan Avenue tourist spot. It smells of sandalwood and an undending number of spices. On our visit, it took 30 minutes for our presence to be acknowleged, but only 30 seconds to cook our order. Kinda scary, but thankfully it was great. The spices seem fresh cut and bursting with flavor. One bit of warning, I like it hot, but I must tell you MEDIUM was all I could handle. Ordering hot would be more risky than being popular at Columbine High. I would tell you what I ordered but you'd have a better chance reciting the bible(in Thai). So I'll just say I ordered the #48. One unexpected bonus was drinkable water, a true treat in Chicago. On a closing note, the prices at the Thai house make it a verifiable best kept secret. <br> The Pros: Incredibly fresh authentic Thai cuisine with the freshest spices I've ever encountered. Non-lethal water, frequently refilled. The bathroom was so clean I didn't have to hover. <br> The Cons: Except for the initial wait, NONE. <br> Overall, Op Art is a one way ticket to Thailand for less than the price of a movie ticket. <br> less
