i notice the reviews vary quite a bit 4 noah's. it really depends on how fresh the bagels are. i live on bagels. i eat bagels all the time. many days, i buy 0.5 dozen n' finish the bag in 1 day. i wish they still made jalapeno bagels, but they don't. my favourites: sesame, blueberry, asiago, sun-dried tomato, cinnamon-raisin, cranberry-orange, everything, poppyseed, onion, banana-nut, and whole wheat sesame. i like their hummus sandwiches, and their whitefish sandwiches. lox trim sandwiches n' egg mits are great too. less

As my friend put it best, "if you can eat two and your mouth doesn't ache, they weren't bagels." I'm just sorry that the two place in Berkeley that did serve passable bagels (Sonoma Valley and the Posh Bagel stores) went out of business. less

Anyone who thinks Noah's bagels are good or (an even bigger laugh)that they are actually "New York style" bagels as advertised, has never tasted a really good bagel! Noah's are steamed. Any good bagel (or any any New York bagel) is boiled. The boiling process gives you the very very chewy texture that defines the word "bagel". Noah's bagels have the consistency of a dinner roll. The whole in the middle is just cosmetics that allow them to masquerade as a good bagel. It just goes to show that good marketing can sometimes overcome a bad product. For a good bagel, go to Levy's, Katz's, or Holey Bagel. I know that all three are in the city and I think they have locations outside the city as well. Marin Bagels are avialable at Safeway and are also superior to Noahs. (Not that it takes much) less
