This one shows up in the Entertainment book with a buy one get one deal. I thought it was worth a try. I'd say it was very average for this area as far as Japanese Steakhouses go. I ordered steak & shrimp. I think the food quality was fine but not notably outstanding. The presentation wasn't nearly as entertaining as other Japanese steakhouses. less

I eat out a lot and I am always trying different places. Nikko's Japanese Steak House is hands down the best on the Kansas side of the state line. Shawn is our preferred chef, but they are all wonderful. Only downside, they changed the salad dressing from a ginger dressing to a ranch dressing. Takes away from the experience, I believe. Reservations are highly recommended at Nikko's in the Mariott Hotel. The restaurant is known both for its great food and for the wonderfully entertaining way it is prepared. It's not unusual for new restaurants to draw a crowd at first, then see business fall off. Nikko's has been consistently busy from the day it opened, perhaps two decades ago. less
