We've been eating lunch here for about 15 years. We usually eat their soup and Deli sandwiches, sometimes hot dogs (plain and coney), chicken strips or hamburgers. The chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers are much the same as the ones served at other restaurants but the Deli Sandwiches are exceptional. They always have a number of soups available and they are all very good. The meats used in their sandwiches are always fresh, never slimy or dried out. The service is very good, many of the wait staff have been there for as long as we can remember. The owner is usually working behind the counter making sandwiches and filling orders. He always greets the customers as they come in whether he is working the register, seating guests, or working behind the counter. I would highly recommend the New York Deli, St. Clair Shores, as a place to get an excellent deli-style sandwich. less

Great fun place to eat! The prices are fine, the service is excellent, and the food is good and lots of it. It can get quite crowded at times so you'd better plan to arrive a little early. Family type cooking not fancy but very filling. more
