place used to be much better when they fused american/mexican...it is a stones throw from La Fuentas, so why bother? It shares a parking lot with TACO BELL, (and it is across the street from EL POLO LOCOS), and when I am in the area, I often find myself with thoughts of going to Marias, and then going to TACO BELL instead to save a few bucks! <br> Not the best location! This will be an exercise in creative writing! This is no longer an American(hamburger)/Mexican restaurant. Before their recent changes, you ordered and paid at the register and the waitress brought you your food - same as Carl's Junior. Now, Melody's has dropped the American cuisine. Only Mexican now. You order, you pay, they call you and you pick up your own food at the counter. More like Burger King, except without the burgers. See? Wasn't that creative? ... I like Mexican food, particularly the quality served here. They are good cooks. My wife hates Mexican food, but liked Melody's hamburgers. We used to have a good compromise here. No more. ... This place has a happy atmosphere, decorated with all kinds of Mexican folk art. It can be a neat place to take a date or the family, unless, of course, it's my family. (sigh) As Lori said, Las Fuentes owns Melody's. I don't know what difference that makes, though. It's a pleasant place to eat. They also have take-out here, so now my wife and I can go to Melody's, buy something for me, then go to the Yoshinoya Beef Bowl to buy something for her, and then home to eat. less
