Advance Reservations is the best way to go. The service is excellent. The uniforms and ambience is Japanese tradition. The food quality, sushi freshness, and sushi preparation is of high standards. Wife and I go there once or twice a month for the past 5 years. Consistently excellent service. I've often dined at the sushi bar (no reservations) or at the dining room (reservations recommended.) It's not cheap, and I'm glad its not, because with a sensitive product like sushi and raw fish, I am glad they take all care to provide a tasty, healthy and safe product. The miso soup is yummy, but the Ponzu sauce for sushi dipping is mouth watering. The current owner/manager used to be the master sushi chef, so he has high standards for quality. less

Sushi connaisseurs know that Matsu is the standard by which all other sushi restaurants are compared to. This is not a discount place, this is for grown-ups that can tell the difference in quality. it is a bit pricey, but I prefer not to be cheap when we are dealing with uncooked seafood. Freshness is extremely important. Also the chef's are skilled. The current owner Yuji used to be the master sushi chef, so he bought the place. The staff always seems happy to be there, and that translates in good service. Reservations are highly recommended. I call at 1PM to make dinner reservation at 7PM. The wife and I and some friends go there at least once a month. less

Took a blind date here the other night, it was a great time. The waitresses were very friendly. The review about the meal served on the little boat is backed up here - it was fabulous. Tons of food though, heheh, hope you're hungry. Bill for 2 ... more

Tons of food though, heheh, hope you're hungry. Bill for 2 with soft drinks came to less than $50. Highly recommended, and I'll sure be back. less
