Their has been a La Fonda of one kind or another, across from the SE corner of Santa Fe's historic plaza since Santa Fe Trail days of yore. Rumor has it Billy the Kid once washed dishes here in his teens. A "must-see" for every first time visitor to the "City Different!" One step inside this old hostelry/restaurant, and you know, as another reviewer suggested...you're in a time warp, more like 1920's New Mexico! There is better food in the area, and the prices are a little steep, but good overall for the "experience." Lunch IS the time to dine here...the buffet is varied, and relatively inexpensive. less
