Puerco's is one of my favorite places to stop for lunch (especially when very hungry). The cuisine is truly authentic Mexican, which is VERY hard to find in KC. I prize the corn tortillas! They are hand-made, and good enough to make a meal out of. There are several positives about Puerco's... including excellent, low fat, nutritious food (real Mexican food is NOT a pile of cheese melted over everything) and a relaxed un-stuffy atmosphere. If you want romantic music and classy ambiance, don't go to this place. They not only have authentic food, but they also have authentic decor. It's very colorful and busy. You can count on hearing Jimmy Buffet playing in the background. If you like margarita's, make sure to try one, especially if the owner will make them for you. He makes the best in town. And if you're traveling? I hear they just opened another one in Bremerton, WA. They must be doing something right! less
