Its interesting that Jim B could write such a review in light of the fact that the Koa House only serves breakfast and lunch, closing daily at 2 pm. Although I've gone to the new IHOP in the mall 1 block away, Koa House continues to be my absolute favorite place in Kaneohe to get breakfast. Their buttermilk pancakes beats IHOP hands down! less

Locals that were on a first name basis with the hostess were seated right away without any reservations. We got tired of waiting and went for pizza down the street. Too bad I had heard that they had good food. less

This is MY favorite place to have a special breakfast! At first you may be a bit put off by the limited parking. Or, (especially if you're going during a holiday) the fact that you often have to put your name on a list & wait outside to be called. ... more

This is MY favorite place to have a special breakfast! At first you may be a bit put off by the limited parking. Or, (especially if you're going during a holiday) the fact that you often have to put your name on a list & wait outside to be called. Then, stepping inside for the 1st time, you'll have to adjust to the fact that the small dining room's "isle" is narrow & booths are somewhat cramped. But once seated, and sipping a cup of the delicious kona coffee... you'll begin to relax as you let your eyes feast on the rich Koa wood paneling covering the walls, the homey way they've decorated the room. All the servers & their assistants are incredibly friendly & always looking to meet your needs promptly. Now.... with all that said, let's discuss the food! Breakfasts are hearty servings of meats, homefried potatoes and eggs done how you like them. Opt for the pancakes instead of toast, as they're awesome! Try Koa House's own, homemade syrup, reminencent of old fashioned orange marmelade or my favorite, coconut. From Eggs Benedict to their lunch fare, everything we've ever ordered has been so good that everyone at the table's had to have a taste of each other's meals! So, when you have a little extra time and patience.... don't miss one of the sparkeling jewels in the breakfast/lunch diner type cuisine! You're gonna love it! less
